A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift raises the tissue and skin of the brows, eyes and forehead in order to approve the appearance caused by the natural onset of the ageing process. As skin ages it loses elasticity and firmness which can be accelerated by lifestyle and environmental circumstances such as sun exposure, smoking and rapid weight loss.
During your consultation stages, your surgeon will discuss with you the reasons why you are considering a brow lift and what result you will likely achieve. Depending on the current appearance of your brow, eye and forehead areas and the aesthetic result you are wanting, this will then determine the surgical techniques used and subsequent incisions and scars.
Brow lift surgery can be performed under local or general anaesthetic and your surgeon will advise you on the most suitable option during your consultation. The surgery normally takes between 1 and 2 hours and typically does not involve an overnight stay in hospital.
You will need to take some time off from work, however because of the range of options available, the expected time will be communicated to you during your consultation with your surgeon. It is however worth bearing in mind that your face may be swollen for a few weeks. Your bandages and sutures will be removed by your nurse and you will discuss your well-being and advised on when you can begin resuming normal activities including washing your hair. We will also advise you how to care for your brow lift long term, including sun protection and medically approved cosmetics.
A brow lift does not have a set price – the price of your surgery is dependent on what techniques are used as well as what other surgery is performed at the same time. You will be advised on the price once you have had your consultation as your surgeon will then know what is involved.
As with any surgery, there are potential risks and complications. These will be discussed with you before any surgery takes place, along with your medical history and you will be provided with comprehensive information in relation to your specific procedure that you can take away and reflect over after your consultation. Don’t forget our friendly team are here to answer any questions you may have.
